Col. George Arbuthnot of Norton Court, Gloucester, DL JP MP (9 January/June 1836 – 26 December 1912) was a British politician. ==Life== Born in Madras, India, he was the son of John Alves Arbuthnot of Coworth Park, Old Windsor, Sunningdale, Berkshire, and wife and cousin Mary Arbuthnot.〔Charles Mosley, editor, ''Burke's Peerage, Baronetage & Knightage, 107th edition, 3 volumes'' (Wilmington, Delaware, U.S.A.: Burke's Peerage (Genealogical Books) Ltd, 2003), volume 1, pages 120 and 121.〕 Arbuthnot was Member of Parliament for Hereford from 1871 to 1874 and from 1878 to 1880.
